Senate is a part of US$120MM enterprise named as “Honorable Padmakarrao Mulay Group of Industries”. There are different companies and lines of Business under the “Honorable Padmakarrao Mulay group of Industries” namely:

1. Ajeet Seeds Ltd

Ajeet Seeds Ltd established in 1986, when the green revolution was progressing by the well known industrialist Honorable Mr. Padmakarrao Mulay.

‘Ajeet Seeds’ a company with ‘21 years of excellence’ and earnestly dedicated to farm prosperity, is already geared up for genetic research using crop bio-technology for the prosperity of Indian farmers.

The company established a “State of Art” laboratory supported by team of expert scientist. The company is trying to develop own / indigenous transgenic technology for the crops which shall accelerate the progress furthermore in the nearest future.

Ajeet seed is the first private seed company to introduce proprietor variety of wheat Ajeet-102. The progress is continued and spontaneous. As a result the product profile of the company covers 22 crops and their 55 different hybrids varieties.

2. Gangamai Industries and Construction Ltd

Gangamai Industries & Constructions Ltd. Started functioning from the year 1999 with a capacity to manufacture sugar with the capacity of 2500 Metric Ton per day. The factory is situated on 123 of Acres of land at village Ghatnandra, Dist. Aurangabad. The Company is also engaged in fuel Ethanol production with a capacity of production 45000 litres per day. The Company is also having a distillery project which shall be completed in nearest future.

Sugar Export
Company exports sugar to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore & other east Asian countries in addition to merchant export also.

Construction activity
The company is having sub contracting arrangement with M/s. Mulay Brothers Ltd. & involved in construction of following irrigation projects.

• Urmudi Project (Dist. Satara)
• Kalmodi Project (Dist. Pune)
• Sina Kolegaon Project (Dist. Osmanabad)
• Sakli Project (Dist. Hingoli)

3. Mulay Brothers Ltd

The company is registered with P.W.D. Govt. of Maharashtra under A-1 class category (without limit) for last 25 years. The company has also registered as a contractor with various corporations promoted by the State Govt.

4. Senate Technologies (I) Pvt Ltd

The Company is having independent creative and advertising wing under the name of Spring Advertising Pvt. Ltd. It has specialty in high quality artwork, print and audio-visual media.

6. Educational Trust – Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Sanstha

The Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj shikshan Sanstha (CSMSS) was established in 1986. The main aim of the Sanstha is to provide professional courses of education in Maharashtra State & in Marathwada region. To achieve this aim the Sanstha started Ayurved College in the year 1989-1990 and it has now intake capacity of admission of 100 students per year. The college has also facilities of P.G. Degree Courses in two subjects having four seats en each faculty. Proposal is under consideration of Govt. to start P.G. Degree Course in three additional subjects.
The Sanstha has started another professional course in Dentistry having BDS Degree course in the year 1991-1992 and its present intake capacities of admission is 100 students per year. The higher education facilities of providing P.G. Degree course i.e. MDS in three subjects is under favorable consideration of Govt. and the courses are likely to be started in the ensuing academic year 2007-2008.
To make awareness amongst the people for the advanced farming and provide Agriculture Education to the sons of Agriculture farmers, Sanstha started Agriculture College & Horticulture College in 2006-2007 having an intake capacity of 96 each student per Year. CSMSS has also started Polytechnic college with intake capacity of 300 which can be scaled to 640 students 
The Sanstha is on fast developing stage with a vision of achieving its goal to open the doors of education in another stream of education and has been decided to start colleges in employment-oriented courses in the near future.

7. Biotechnology Company – Advance Technology Genetics Centre

This wing undertakes following tests for the company and its Customers.

• ELISA based diagnostic testing for Cry 1Ac, Cry 1Ab, Cry 1F and Cry 1 Ab/Ac.
• PCR based diagnostic testing for Cry 1Ac and Cry 2Ab.
• DNA finger printing and quantitative Elisa testing. This section is headed by expert and qualified Bio-technologists.

The Company is having independent and well-equipped Tissue Culture Laboratory. The tissue culture plantlets of leading varieties of sugarcane, Banana, Stevia and important medicinal plants are produced under aseptic & hygienic conditions. “Ajeet” Sugarcane & Banana seedlings are getting increased demand every year. The R & D unit of tissue culture laboratory also developed own Banana variety ‘SONIA’. The tissue culture plantlets are delivered up to the farmers.

Achievements by Ajeet Seeds Ltd

• DSIR National Award, 2006 for Outstanding Research Achievements was confirmed on Ajeet Seeds Ltd., by the Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi. The Outstanding R & D achievements for which the Award is declared to the company, include Release & Notification of Cotton hybrids, Ajeet-11 & Ajeet-33, by the Ministry of Agriculture; Government of India, making available these hybrids with Bt genes for cultivation duly approved by Genetic Engineering Approval Committee, and also the Development and Commercialization of outstanding Okra hybrids, Ajeet-333 & Ajeet-345 with genetic male sterility base.
• In recognization of the contributions in Agriculture and Social welfare, number of awards like “Marathwada Kesari” in year 2001, “Marathwada Ratna & Maharashtra Bhushan” in Sept,2002 have been confirmed on our Hon’ble Chairman Shri Padmakar Haribhau Mulay and presented by gracious hands of Chief Minister Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh.
• The company started with seed production of couple of notified varieties in 1986 and is now producing 22 crops and their 55 different hybrids varieties.
• In house R&D unit recognized by Ministry of Science and Technology, Department Of Science And Industrial Research, Government Of India.
• The company has developed its own genetic resources of GMS and CMS based hybrid seeds in case of cotton, jowar, bajra, pear millet, chili, okra and pigeon pea. The company has separate R & D facilities, with well-equipped laboratories and qualified research scientists.
• Hybrid cotton, Ajeet-11 (irrigated and rainfed) ranked first for 3 years consistently under All India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project (AICCIP) trials conducted by ICAR, New Delhi.
• Hybrid cotton Ajeet-33 (irrigated) ranked first for 2 years consistently under All India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project (AICCIP) trials conducted by ICAR, New Delhi.
• Jowar hybrids Ajeet-997, Ajeet-333 ranked first in the National level testing.
• Improved chili, Ajeet-11 ranked second during 2001-02 under yield trials conducted by All India Coordinated Vegetable Improvement Project of ICAR, New Delhi.
• The first private seed company in the seed industry to introduce proprietary variety of Wheat Ajeet-102.
• The company has established wide, well spread network of 400 distributors and 3000 dealers and more than 26000 of seed producers, growers all over India.
• The company has established Tie up with Mahyco-Monsanto for Transgenic (Bt) cotton technology in April-2002 and aiming to develop its own transgenic technology in various crops.
• The Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC), Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India, has given permission for sales of Bollgard-I (Ajeet-33 and Ajeet-155) and Bollgard-II (Ajeet-11) cotton hybrids in Central and South zone in May & June, 2006.
